Bariatrics & Obesity 2025: A Round-up

James Peerless

The emergence and widespread use of weight loss drugs has rapidly changed the landscape in the management of patients living with obesity, and thus also bariatric surgery. However, as more research in to weight loss is carried out, we realise we have much still to learn on the physiological and pathological interactions between fat and the bodies it inhabits.

This talk provides an update of some changes that have recently taken place in the bariatric world; and specifically focuses on new best-practice recommendations on airway management in this patient group.

Dr James Peerless is a consultant anaesthetist living and working in Kent, UK.
